Do Justice, Love Kindness, and Walk Humbly

As you read the Bible, you may come upon some things that really surprise you and make you say Whoa! But there are also things that you read that make you say "woe". A woe is a warning. Jesus gives several warnings expressed in righteous anger towards the pharisees.

Like the pharisees, God does not simply want us to follow a set of rules that are separated from our hearts for God and our hearts for people. Jesus does not want us to simply follow a list of rules but he wants us to be just, and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.
